MgH2 surface modified with nanosized alloy was prepared by a short ball mill period with hydrogenated alloy. The alyzed MgH2 showed attractive absorption/desorption properties, desorbing wt % hydrogen in 30 min at 290 °C and absorbing more than 90% of its initial hydrogen capacity with 100 min even at below 100 °C. Moreover, the hydrogen ...

Effect of BallMilling on the Properties of Mg 2 Cu ...

Jul 17, 2017 · We investigated by differential scanning calorimetry the effect of ball milling on the hydrogenation properties of Mg 2 Cu, a hydrogen storage alloy, prepared by two methods: One is mechanically alloyed Mg 2 Cu using Mg and Cu powders as starting materials. Eight hours (= ks) of ball milling transformed the Mg:Cu=2:1 mixture into Mg 2 Cu single phase which reacts reversibly with hydrogen.

May 06, 2008 · A novel LiNH2−MgH2 hydrogen storage system with a molar ratio of 1:1, which can desorb wt % hydrogen or 3 equiv of H atoms during first ball milling and subsequent heating, was investigated. During ball milling, the NH2 group in LiNH2 and H atoms in MgH2 switched with each other, leading to the formation of Mg(NH2)2 and LiH, and then the newly formed Mg(NH2)2 and LiH .
